Route 66 Autorama &
Lifestyle Expo postponed until spring Event founder diagnosed
with cancer
08-11-10: Adelanto, CA - American
Spirit Network Spokesperson and Radio Personality Tommy Diamond
was diagnosed on Friday with Cancer after spending a week at
Desert Valley Hospital in Hesperia, Calif. In light of this
unforeseen turn of events, American Spirit Network and its family
of companies has made the decision to postpone the Route 66 Autorama
and Lifestyle Expo that was scheduled to take place over Labor
Day Weekend on September 4 & 5.
"With the strong support
of our sponsors, advertisers and marketing partners, we have
been encouraged to move the event to spring 2011," Diamond
said. "I am grateful and overwhelmed at the outpouring
of support I have already received and would like to thank everyone
for the kindness and compassion they have shown as I prepare
for the medical journey ahead."
With a positive outlook, Diamond
is scheduled to check into Loma Linda University Medical Center
later this week to explore treatment options and surgical procedures.
Autorama organizers are looking
at tentative spring dates to reschedule the event that will include
a festival-like celebration of Americana, Route 66, old-fashioned
tradition, classic cars, food, entertainment and family fun including
a televised Parade of Patriots. Details and updates will be
posted at www.tommydiamond.net as they become available.
"The American Spirit Network
team will keep the public informed and has pledged to remain
committed to my goal of raising awareness for my extended family
of children with autism and the mentally challenged,"
Diamond said.
